Enhanced capabilities for mission planning and data sharing together in one place.

The Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) for DoD or Team Awareness Kit (TAK) for law enforcement and first responders is a Government-Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software suite of applications and mapping solutions. TAK is a program of record by the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) where it provides an enhanced capability to conduct mission planning, targeting, situational awareness, navigation, data sharing, intelligence operations, and execution over public or tactical meshed networks. TAK is an extensible geospatial and situational awareness platform that leverages open technology which offers a multitude of options designed to ensure flexibility and added future enhancements. The TAK software suite supports Android, Windows, iOS, Linux server, and Virtual Reality (VR) product lines. TAK is under continuous development by the TAK Product Center which is directed and resourced by the interagency TAK Configuration Steering Board. As an added feature to TAK, a software development kit (SDK) is available for authorized industry partners which provides additional benefits to TAK. They include specialized plug-in modules that can be easily imported into the application, thus expanding the unique capabilities within the TAK ecosystem. These applications expand the operational value found across an array of diverse user groups, from tactical to enterprise to law enforcement. TAK adoption has grown exponentially across the United States Government and foreign partners as numerous program offices have adopted TAK as the base for the situational awareness tool, mission planning, and personnel recovery. This growth can be attributed to TAK’s common core that ensures inherent interoperability amongst each TAK-based system and its plug-in architecture.
